1, Can I use a Rooftop Tent with any car ?

2, I’m not a hardcore camper. Would the roof top tent be good for me ?

If you’re into being super comfortable and adding significant convenience to your camping experience, then a roof top tent is a smart option. Think of it like taking everything that’s great about your bedroom, sticking it on top of your car, and then getting to snooze the night away - safely and comfortably under the stars.

3, Where can you use the Rooftop Tents ?

You can sleep anywhere that allows overnight parking. This includes National Parks, National Forests, BLM lands, Walmart parking lots, and in your in-laws’ driveway.

4, Is the rooftop tent safe to sleep on ?

YES, IT IS SAFE.
Sleeping in the Rooftop Tents is generally safe, as they have been popular all over the world for over a decade without any reported incidents of falls. To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, it's important to follow a few simple tips.

4.1). Always make sure to zip up the entrance of the tent when you go to sleep, even if you forget to close it, the size of the entrance will make it difficult for anyone to accidentally fall out.  
4.1). Park your car on a flat, level surface, rather than on a steep ramp.

5. How do I mount the rooftop tent on my roof racks ?

5.1). The included mounting brackets can be mounted on both narrow square roof hangers as well as on wide wing-shaped roof hangers. The mounting brackets can be slid back and forth as desired in the bottom aluminum rails to match the location of your roof racks on the roof.

5.2). The distance between the roof rails is recommended to stay over 40% of the whole length:

5.3). Make sure to adjust your RTT centered on the roof, Once it is in the correct position, fasten all of the hardware. This will prevent the tent from moving or vibrating while driving. Using nylon lock screws and thread locker blue is recommended for a secure and stable installation.

6, Do I need specific roof racks ?

No, the universal mounting system fits most roof racks and can be easily installed in less than 15 minutes.
If your car has a fixed platform, it may require a roof top tent raiser.
Two crossbars with dynamic weight rating of at least 45Kgs/100 lbs will be good to support Roof top tent, we recommend using heavy duty through crossbars with a width of over 5CM/2 inches.
Note that roof racks and crossbars are not included with the purchase of a rooftop tent, and you will need to purchase them separately. You can find the best option for your car on here: Roof Racks.

7, Will the rooftop tents fit the TESLA cars ?
YES.
The roof top tent is designed to distribute weight evenly across the car's frame, with the main force points being reinforced with the strongest materials to prevent crushing. It is important to ensure that your car's crossbars have a dynamic weight rating of at least 45Kgs/ 100 lbs. The total weight of the tent and any occupants should be no more than four times this rating. We recommend using heavy duty through crossbars with a width of over 5CM/2 inches for added stability. For Tesla Model 3 and S vehicles, the crossbars should be spaced at least 89CM/35 inches apart, but we recommend a spacing of over 94CM/37 inches for the best results.

8, How about the Fabric Material type ?

The hard shell tent is made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and aluminum, while the soft shell tent is made from 420D canvas with PU (polyurethane) coating with waterproof and UV protection rating of 50+.
The fasteners are made from iron and aluminum 
The ladder is a 2.3 meter telescopic aluminum alloy ladder.
The tent also includes mounting brackets and a built-in thickened comfort sponge mattress.
The zippered breathable anti-mosquito net provides added protection and comfort.

9, Is the ABS plastic UV resistant or it will crack in the future ?

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a widely used plastic material in the automotive industry, known for its versatility and durability. It can be easily molded into complex shapes and is resistant to impact, acid, and alkali. ABS is also known for its excellent surface finish and dimensional stability, making it a popular choice for parts that require high precision and a long lifespan. Additionally, ABS has good toughness and rigidity, as well as low creep, making it an ideal material for a wide range of automotive applications.

If you are planning on using your rooftop tent in extreme weather conditions, an aluminum shell may be a better option as it does not deteriorate over time and is more durable. This material is resistant to dryness, cold, and temperature changes, ensuring that your tent remains in good condition even in challenging conditions. 10, Dynamic and Static weight limits ?

DYNAMIC WEIGHT.
Before ordering, it is a good idea to check the dynamic roof weight of your car.
You can look it up at www.car.info or in the car's manual.
This weight is the maximum weight of the car on the roof while driving.
This weight is the maximum weight of the car on the roof while driving. Only the dynamic weight limit is stated by car and roof rack manufacturers.
The tent you want to mount on your car should keep its dead weight within this dynamic weight limit.

STATIC WEIGHT.
When the car stops, it's a different matter.
Here, the weight has become static, and car and roof racks can hold an incredible amount of weight. So you can easily climb three or four people up in the roof tent. .
You can not find the static weight online. This is not stated by car manufacturers as cars are made for driving.
Max load weight in our roof tent when they are pitched and the car is stationary is 415kg.

11. What about Strong Winds, Rain, Sleet, Snow and the Cold Nights of Winter ?

iKamping rooftop tents are nearly as weatherproof as your car, and certainly warmer.
Our customers have reported sleeping comfortably through major wind storms, snow storms, dust storms, and even deep freezing temps. We even have added insulation for some models.

12, What are precautions during use ?

12.1). Most important, please make sure your ladder was locked before you step on.

12.2). Do not use the roof tent in typhoon or windy weather above level 5.

12.3). Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of the roof tent.

12.4). Do not open the roof tent on steep or inclined roads or while the car is in motion.

12.5). Pay attention to children's safety when using the roof tent, particularly when using the ladder. Avoid allowing children to be on the roof alone to prevent falls.

12.6). Close the roof tent while driving and be aware of the increased height of the car with the roof tent loaded.
